OBJECTIVES
Research through the special interest group concerning the DENTAL CARIOLOGY is focused at the following objectives

  1. Assimilation of knowledge on foundations & dynamics of dental cariology

  2. Evidence based approach to understanding the pathophysiology and occurrence of dental caries

  3. Study of effect of dental caries on general health.

  4. Study if the effect of general health on the dynamics of dental caries.

  5. Developing patient centered innovative novel techniques of prevention and interception of the carious process along with the thorough evaluation of the hitherto known techniques.

  6. Dental plaque related research including the immunologic basis of cariology

  7. Develop natural products that can, at a affordable cost, provide every person the basic protection against dental caries as well as assure good level of oral hygiene.

  8. Application of regenerative biology in dental cariology.

  9. Developing and evaluating non invasive diagnostic tools which would aid in early identification of dental carious lesion and caries risk assessment which potentially can lead to substantial modification of prevention and restorative intervention.

  10. To organize and conduct Seminars, workshops, lecture series and upgradation programs to keep in par with the recent advancements related to dental cariology

  11. To collaborate with other similar organization to meet the cause of excellence in research relating dental cariology.
